World Airways was an American airline that operated from 1948 to 2014. It was founded in 1947 and primarily provided charter and military transport services. The airline was based in Peachtree City, Georgia, and operated a fleet of wide-body aircraft.
Throughout its history, World Airways served various destinations worldwide, including Europe, Asia, the Middle East, and South America. It also had contracts with the United States military, providing troop and cargo transport during wartime.
However, the airline faced financial troubles and filed for bankruptcy multiple times. In 2014, World Airways ceased all operations and subsequently filed for Chapter 7 bankruptcy, leading to its liquidation.
Since its closure, World Airways has not resumed operations, and the airline no longer exists.
