US Airways

  • US Airways was a major American airline that operated from 1939 to 2015. It was initially known as All American Airways and underwent several name changes before becoming US Airways in 1997. The airline was headquartered in Tempe, Arizona, and had hubs in major cities including Charlotte, Philadelphia, and Phoenix.
  • Over the years, US Airways expanded its route network both domestically and internationally, offering flights to various destinations across North America, Europe, South America, and the Middle East. It was a member of the Star Alliance, which allowed passengers to earn and redeem miles on partner airlines.
  • In 2013, US Airways announced its merger with American Airlines, and the two airlines officially merged in 2015. Following the merger, US Airways ceased to exist as a separate airline, and all flights and operations were consolidated under the American Airlines brand.
