Nationwide Airlines was a South African airline that operated from 1991 to 2008. The airline was based in Johannesburg, South Africa and primarily served domestic routes within the country. It also operated some international flights to destinations in Africa and the Middle East.
Nationwide Airlines initially started as a charter airline, offering flights for tour operators and other travel agencies. It later expanded its operations to scheduled passenger services, becoming one of the largest airlines in South Africa in terms of fleet size.
However, Nationwide Airlines faced financial difficulties in the mid-2000s due to increased competition and rising fuel prices. In February 2008, the airline was forced to suspend its operations and subsequently filed for liquidation.
Today, Nationwide Airlines no longer exists as an active airline.
