Adria Airways

  • Adria Airways was the largest airline and the flag carrier of Slovenia. The airline was established in 1961 and operated scheduled and charter flights to various destinations in Europe. Its hub was Ljubljana Jože Pučnik Airport.
  • Adria Airways offered a range of services including economy and business class options to its passengers. The airline had a fleet of Airbus and Bombardier aircraft, which were used for both short-haul and medium-haul flights.
  • Unfortunately, Adria Airways filed for bankruptcy in September 2019 and ceased all operations. The airline's collapse was mainly due to financial difficulties and mismanagement. As a result, many passengers were left stranded and the Slovenian government had to organize alternative arrangements for affected travelers.
  • It should be noted that Adria Airways' bankruptcy has left a void in Slovenia's aviation industry, and efforts are being made to establish a new national carrier in the future.
